Shaking Things Up

I would consider myself a serial dater. What is that you ask? Well, it’s someone who is constantly dating because (1) they don’t want to be lonely, (2) they have found someone new and/or better, (3) they literally can’t function without having someone around, or (4) you just kind of click with someone once a relationship is over and it kind of happens where now you are in a new relationship!

For me, I would say it’s number 4. Over the years, I literally haven’t come up for air…. Sorry that’s graphic…not in the way you’re thinking.  What I mean is that I haven’t really let myself be single in between dating. I just kind of moved on to the next convenient person (that sounds rude). To clarify I never used the guys, I literally just clicked with someone right away and thought…’what the heck, why not?’

But the past year and a half, I have been single…hold for applause.

This is the first time in a long time that I have been single and it has been freaking awesome. I don’t have to report to anyone. I can sleep on whatever side of the bed I want. I can also eat whatever I feel like. I’m free!

Don’t get me wrong, I miss sleeping next to someone (sometimes, preferably during winter).  Oh and I miss someone being there when times are tough. Yea, I have friends but it’s different when you are in a relationship with someone. It’s a different level of emotional support.

For right now, I’m just going to be single…and see how this plays out. I’m not trying to find someone nor am I rushing to get married. If the stuff happens, then it happens.

My point is, being a serial dater, like me, it doesn’t leave you any room to grow as a person. How are you supposed to ever find someone when you don’t even know who you are or what you want?  Being independent and single is a choice that I think everyone should make at some point in their life. It really helps you find out more about yourself and what you see in a future husband and/or wife!

Also, for people who have made it this far in the post, I will be doing a giveaway in the next couple of days on my Facebook page! SHhhhhh! So check out my Facebook Page here for more details….soon!

I Don’t Cook

There are probably a total of 3 things that I cook and 1 of those includes easy mac. And being snowed in yesterday (12inchs) I went in a downward spiral food absorption/binging. I’m not very proud of this but I did get a pretty awesome recipe out of it.

As I was looking in my cabinets and fridge for a decent meal, I thought everything was going to be lost. So I searched the internet for 3 ingredient recipes and I cam across one of my favorite and probably easiest recipes by far. Breaded chicken breasts.

Now, I know you are thinking. It’s just breaded chicken. Ha! No it’s easy as shit breaded chicken.

Ingredients

2 Eggs

2 Large Chicken Breasts

Ritz Crackers

Butter

Salt

Pepper

^Look at that! That is literally it!

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Whisk 2 eggs in a bowl.
  3. Mix crushed crackers, salt and pepper in a separate bowl (*I also added a little garlic).
  4. Dip your chicken breast into the eggs, then into the cracker combination.
  5. Place in pan.
  6. Sprinkle the leftover crushed crackers on top of chicken.
  7. Put 4 teaspoons (or how much you would like) of butter around the chicken in the pan.
  8. Pop that bitch into the oven for 40 minutes or until the juices run clear.

Then walah! You have breaded chicken! So freaking delicious! You can thank you me later!

Love,

The Signs

mac-and-cheese

In your previous relationships, were there signs that you ignored because you thought your significant other was perfect and they couldn’t possibly have any flaws?  I think we all go through this in the initial phases of a relationship but we choose to ignore them. Mine came to me in a flash and I chose to ignore it. Pfftttt!

My realization came tonight when I was making my macaroni and cheese. I flashed back to when I made mac and cheese with my ex. He told me to only use half the packet of cheese.

I should have known not to trust someone that only uses half the packet of cheese for macaroni and cheese.

He said it made it “too cheesy.’ Like what?!

It wasn’t a big warning sign but who the hell does that shit?!? A monster, that’s who!

Feel free to share your stories, whether sad or funny! I look forward to hearing them!

Breakfast of Champions

(This is her attempt at a selfie. Drunk.)

I’m at my grandparent’s house this weekend and my conversation this morning went a little like this…

Grandma: “I think I’m gonna make myself a drink.” *pulls out a bottle of vodka

Me: “Granny, it’s 9am…”

Grandma: *shrugs her shoulders “I’ll put it in a coffee cup then.”

For the Foodie in all of us!

Ever heard of the infamous Garrett’s Popcorn in Chicago?!  If you haven’t, then you are missing out on life. Established in 1949, Garrett’s Popcorn has been a staple of Chicago. They offer multiple popcorn flavors; which include cheesecorn, caramelcrisp, and buttery. The original flavor and my personal favorite is the Garrett Mix. This mix combines CaramelCrisp with CheeseCorn for a awesome explosion of your taste buds!

Think it sounds gross? I thought the same thing until I popped a handful in my mouth.  It is by far the perfect popcorn mix you will ever eat.  I know I sound like an advertisement for Garrett’s but I can tell you, I am not and the food speaks for itself. There is a list of southern foods that I like way better than the Midwest versions but this popcorn is not one of them! If you are in Chicago, try it! You will not be disappointed! When you’re there, tell them Taylor sent you. They’ll probably look at you like you’re crazy and ask “who the hell is Taylor?” It’ll be funny either way.
